Meet Two Future PGA Pros from the PGA WORKS Scholarship Program

The PGA WORKS Scholarship is forming the next generation of the PGA of America’s Membership each year.

Beginning in 2017 with five original winners, PGA REACH now awards up to ten scholarships to PGA Professional Golf Management students each year. We recently caught up with two winners from the 2020 class of PGA WORKS Scholars, Breanna Reynolds and Grace McKinnon, who both detailed their experience with PGM school and why they chose this path to Membership.

Grace McKinnon is a rising freshman at Florida Gulf Coast University. The captain of her all boy’s golf team at Methuen High School in Methuen, Massachusetts, she is known locally for her leadership qualities both on and off the golf course. As a two sport athlete, she took full advantage of her athletic ability and now looks to transition into a leader in the PGA Membership ranks.

“If it wasn’t for golf, I wouldn’t be who I am today,” said McKinnon. “This game has given me so many opportunities to grow as a person, and making it my career will mean I never have to work a day in my life, because I’m doing something I love.”

Breanna Reynolds is a rising sophomore at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The Secretary of her class, Reynolds also looks to ascend to leadership roles within the golf industry. Originally from Parker, South Dakota, she found golf after her parents led her to find a sport she enjoyed.

“If you’re a lover of golf, then this major is for you,” added Reynolds. “You get to spend most of your days on a golf course with other people who love the game as well. Everyone is making strong connections and never having to work a day in their life because their work is golf.”
