PGA Jr. League: Action-Packed Pair of Tennessee PGA Section Qualifiers
Published on
A pair of National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Tennessee PGA Section Championship Qualifiers were held across Tennessee in late July. Jackson (Tennessee) Country Club played host to five All-Star teams and Sevierville (Tennessee) Golf Club hosted seven All-Star teams of junior golfers ages 13 and under.
The events at both Jackson Country Club and Sevierville Golf Club were 9-hole scramble, stroke-play qualifiers where each of the All-Star Teams were broken into four two-person scramble teams. The two best scores from each site advanced to the Tennessee PGA Section Championship, which will be contested August 14 at Tennessee Grasslands in Gallatin, Tennessee.
The four teams who advanced to the 2022 Tennessee PGA Jr. League Section Championship were: Westhaven All-Stars, Memphis All-Stars, Tri-Cities 1 All-Stars and Chattanooga 2 All-Stars.
The Memphis All-Star Team shot a combined 94, or 14 under par, to win the West Section Qualifier.
Section Qualifiers and Championships are the first of three phases in the National Car Rental PGA Jr. League Championship Season, which highlights the aspirational nature of competition celebrated in a way unique to PGA Jr. League.
