Louis Cherubin, PGA: Inspiring the Next Generation of Golfers Through Resilience and Passion

Hello, I'm Louis Cherubin, a PGA Golf Professional, but more importantly, I’m a testament to the transformative power of God and golf. My journey into this incredible game wasn’t a conventional one. I discovered golf in my mid-40s, during one of the most challenging periods of my life—battling mental illness and searching for a way to regain control.

Golf became more than a game for me—it became my lifeline, a tool that restored my confidence, discipline, and inner peace. Through faith and perseverance, I found healing on the course. The game taught me patience, resilience, and the power of perseverance, helping me overcome personal struggles and step into a purpose far greater than I had imagined.

Now, as a PGA Class A Member, my mission is to give back—to help others find healing, confidence, and success through golf. I am passionate about growing the game in diverse communities and inspiring the next generation—especially those who, like me, have faced obstacles that seemed impossible to overcome.

I was born and raised in New Jersey, but my heritage is deeply rooted in Haiti. I bring a unique perspective to the golf community and am committed to being a mentor and guide for other African American golfers pursuing their PGA Membership and for anyone who has ever felt like they didn’t belong in this game. Golf is for everyone, and I strive to make it accessible, welcoming, and life-changing.

Beyond golf, I wear many hats: teacher, pastor, author, life coach, counselor, husband, and father of five. Each of these roles enriches my ability to connect with students on a deeper level—not just as golfers, but as individuals striving to reach their full potential.

My story is proof that no challenge is too great when faith leads the way, no dream is too far when you trust God’s plan, and no struggle is the end of the road when you choose resilience. Golf gave me back my life, and now, I’m here to help others discover how faith and this game can transform theirs.
