Bryson DeChambeau made his Ryder Cup debut as a Captain's pick in 2018 and now has himself in prime position to make the 2020 USA Team after claiming his first major championship.
DeChambeau moved from sixth to second in the USA Ryder Cup point standings with his win at Winged Foot as he looks to lock down a roster spot for the 2020 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits Sept. 21-26, 2021.
Though much is being made of DeChambeau's body transformation and overpowering golf courses week in and week out, PGA Coach Joanna Coe believes there is another key part of DeChambeau's game that golfers of all levels could learn from most.

One of the hottest topics in golf is Bryson’s body transformation and his relentless pursuit of power. Thanks to strokes gained statistics, we know that driving distance (and not necessarily accuracy) is a huge advantage. It is unrealistic for the average person to completely transform their body like Bryson, but for those players looking for added distance, you must hit the ball off the center of the face and increase your club head speed. Be sure to start a SuperSpeed program, or see your local PGA Professional who may have access to force plates to measure your GRF (Ground Reaction Force). Also, make sure your body is ready and mobile through a TPI assessment and program. The most underrated quality about Bryson is that he knows how to win on the biggest stages dating back to his NCAA and US Amateur titles. Bryson relies on science and his knowledge of the Homer Kelly masterpiece, “The Golfing Machine.” He trusts his golf swing, he trusts his mind and he trusts his preparation. Golfers of all levels would benefit from Bryson’s commitment and self-belief. This is something that separates the good players from the great players. With that commitment in pressure filled situations, Bryson will execute coming down the stretch and contend for major championships for many years to come. — PGA Coach Joanna Coe
