It’s What’s to Wear Wednesday at the 2022 PGA Show and to start the conversation, we will begin with five women’s amazing apparel lines you need to check out either here at Orange County Convention Center or online from home.
IBKUL
Who doesn’t want to be cool? We all do, whether we are on the course or off. Now cool has a couple different definitions, but this brand covers them all. IBKUL (https://ibkul.com/) is where technology meets fashion. Their performance fabric possesses a material called “icefill.” It not only sounds cool, but it will cool you down 3-5 degrees! Their clothing prides itself on protecting you from the sun. With UPF 50+ and long sleeve designs the cooling performance is a great addition.
Southern Tide
They make dresses, pants, lifestyle gear you can wear on the court, course and horse. Yes, if you want to look cool and be cool, make sure you check them out. Lowering temperature technology is a special clothing characteristic. Another brand with a similar concept is Southern Tide (https://southerntide.com/). Their Brrr fabric lowers your temperature as well. As the name suggests, their vibe is coastal, but fits anywhere.
Speaking of fit, they not only utilizes performance fabrics, but they stretch as well. Those looking for a 9 and dine outfit will find a home here. Crossover brands are important in golf right now and any women who wears Southern Tide will be comfortable in any setting with their various clothing collections. This point is very important. Golf’s popularity means we all consume the game differently.
Kilo Tango
For those who may prefer good company over a good scorecard Kilo Tango (https://proshop-kilotango.golf/) will catch your attention. A brand-new line made in the USA, their designs really define the social golfer. Their brand architect was a collegiate golfer. You can compete in her clothes, but on the patio afterward is where you really stand out. If you love when others ask, “Where did you get that outfit?” then enjoy a look through their inventory. From A-line dresses to appropriate cut shirts and skirts this new company is quickly grabbing our attention.
Smith & Quinn
Another way to grab a customer’s attention in the golf space is to create custom designs. We’re not suggesting producing custom women’s clothing on your own, rather let Smith & Quinn do it for you. The 2019 Best New Designer at the Show has taken their creativity to the next level. With a thoughtful interview they can come up with a print or image specific to your setting. Your print becomes the fabric for everything from dresses to accessories. For those looking to make their merchandising stand out this innovation is for you.
Kinona
Successful brands prioritize fit. Kinona (https://kinonasport.com/) is Hawaiian for shape. Their motto really catches your attention – “Golf clothes for women who hate their golf clothes.” That’s a strong statement to back up, but with design inspiration from the runway and not the fairway they succeed. True to their namesake, high waistbands, gripping technology and compression give women a look and feel they are insanely loyal about. Combine it with their fabulous Italian fabrics and you can feel and see yourself filling your closet with their clothes.
These five brands share a common thread. The days of pink it and shrink it are officially over. 2022 is about fit, fabric and function away from the course. It’s time to get excited lady golfers, women have plenty to wear in 2022!
