Qualifying Level Overview
In order to begin the process of registering for the PGM Associate Program, you must meet the activities listed below. Create an account to view the guided application steps, kickstart your journey, and track your application process.
Pass Qualifying Level Courses
Review four Qualifying Level online courses and complete accompanying quizzes.
Take the Playing Ability Test (PAT)
Complete two rounds of golf (36 holes), shooting equal to or lower than the course rating for 36 holes plus 15. PATs are formally administered by PGA Sections.
Complete the Background Check
All individuals registering or re-registering as an Associate must complete a Background Check.
Verify Eligible Employment
Apply to the PGM Associate Program
Successful completion of these steps allow you to begin your PGM Associate Program journey.
Not Working In Golf Yet?
Affiliates are individuals who are not eligibly working as golf professionals and do not meet Associate eligibility, but may proceed through the Qualifying Level and Level 1 only of the PGM Associate Program. Affiliates must then meet all Associate eligibility to register as an Associate in Level 2 to progress toward PGA of America Membership.
